Yes, in the remote possibility that I win a qualifier ... but I'm sure everyone thinks as I do.

I'll be playing. I'll only do the main event if I win a satellite or if I find a backer, but I will do some of the smaller tourneys.... maybe some of their earlier NL events, but if I don't do the main event, I'll definitely play in the two $1k evens they have going on lte in the week (as I did this year).

Oh so pokerstars runs the WPT and you have to play pokerstars to play events. Thats news to me!

i would like to play in a couple of events, but i would be much more interested in playing the smaller buy in, non nlhe events.
i will definitely work my way towards the series by playing in online satellites. hopefully sites begin to offer more satellites that can be applied to any of the tourneys, not just the main event. |

I definitely plan on playing in a couple of the minor (buy in $1000-$2000) WSOP events a couple of years down the road.. how do you go about registering, and can anyone just plop down a couple G's to enter the tourney or do you have to have some sort of qualification?

Show up with money, stand in line, and you're in.

And that's exactly how it should be.
I don't like the idea of having a "pros only" championship. The allure of these big money events is the idea that any Joe Blow can show up and take the title. CF |

of course, that is part of the allure for the pros as well. there are only so many high limit games going where they can make their living, and while the tourney trail is tough, it is definitely +EV for the pros. they welcome the idea that anyone can enter, because for the most part, not everyone can actually play.
i think that it was johnny moss that said "I can walk into any card room in the world, and if I dont know your face, I can beat you." it isnt exactly that way any more, but you get my point. |
