We really need more information on the cards involved, position of the players, etc. but I would bet that with that kind of raise and no possible straight or flush, you are beat by either 2 pairs or a set.

Yea, sorry about that, it actually happened to me a couple times last night, once I remember I had AK and the flop was K-3-9, turn 7, river 2 (if I remember that one right) and I was doing the betting.
