I don't think a weak King is as unlikely as you do, but the more I've thought about this, the more I think a value bet is in order and that is how I play it... MY %s were wrong. I'm probably more like 75 or 80%% value bet and 20 or 25% check. It really depends on my opponent.

in 6 Max LHE would it be often that a player would simply check call 3 bets with middle pair on the flop, never raising to see where he's at?

Are you saying, HU against an aggro player, that you never let them hang themselves?
There are certainly a few (if not more) situations where this profitable. |

Well, obviously this isn't a HU situation, or he would only be check calling 1 bet. Right? I guess I don't understand what you are asking. Let's put this Q/A back together in one place...
The question was: --- in 6 Max LHE would it be often that a player would simply check call 3 bets with middle pair on the flop, never raising to see where he's at? --- Your answer was: --- Yes. --- My answer was: --- A very bad player, maybe. --- No WAY am I check/calling 3 bets with middle pair on the flop. Unless I have some goofy open ended straight flush draw to go with it, I guess (like if I have 8sTs and the flop ius 7s8d9s, for example). Even then, I'm going to be firing and not check/calling. But yes, I have seen other players do this with "just" middle pair, which I think is a terrible play (they have Qs4d and the flom comes AhQcJc). If someone checks that flop and then there is a bet, a raise, and a reraise and they CALL with their middle pair and no draw, yes, I believe they are a very, very, very bad player. |
