I think that's a great idea! A few questions...
1. It would only apply on Stars tournaments? (Assuming yes.) 2. It would only apply to MTTs... right? (Assuming yes.) 3. I like the idea of a contest "entry." $5, $10, $20. Either way, the purpose is to get everyone who wants to participate on board right at the beginning of the month. I'd hate to work all month on TLB points and then someone comes along on the 25th of October, manages to win a $20 tournament, and then accumulates MASSIVE points (essentially from one tournament), taking the lead. Of course, if that person paid the entry at the beginning of the month and "got in" then it would count... but just to have someone luckily win a tournament and take down the contest seems unfair. Unless of course - everyone is in favor of that? Seems weak to me. Comments? Good idea, O.

#1 and #2: Yes and Yes.
#3: Whoever pays the $20 (or whatever it is) would be eligible to win the contest. If they win a $20 tourney at the end of the month I dont think they should be punished for having a bad month prior to that. The TLB takes your best 20 finishes for the month and gives you pts for them. You get TLB pts for finishing in the top 15% of the tourney field. They give TLB pts for freeroll finishes too just to throw that out there. Im just throwing out ideas/looking for ideas so comment on whatever you want and then we can get something set up. whoever pays the $20 we will have TP hold it or something like that. |

Cool idea, but won't this strongly favor the people who play a LOT of tourneys? Some people might only have time for one or two, if that...
I don't think I play 20 Stars tourneys per month, for example, let alone finish in the top 15% of the field in 20 of them. |

yeah... well obviously if you play more cash games/ SNGs than MTTs then this isnt for you but if you play MTTs then this will be more appealing to you.

good idea overall. I guess this would wind up being similar to the $25 bankroll challenge we had here recently (which I didn't participate in btw). This would try to see who the best MTT tounament player is, like the other tried to see who the best cash game player was. An obvious next step might be to have a monthlong contest to see who the best Sit n Go player is (if this is also succesful).
I haven't played much on Stars, mostly just a few of the TP tournaments we have had. Does anyone know if the TLB points factor in amount of buy in? Meaning, if I place 8th in a $10+1 MTT, would I get the same points as someone who placed 8th in a $500+50 MTT (assuming the same # of players). Just curious. Gotta have some mousepads as prizes...sweet!! |

I think that can be arranged
![]() I don't know the answers to the rest of your questions. It's probably spelled out on their web site somewhere though. Oh.... and the bankroll building thing was NOT to see who the best cash game player was (since it restricted what gmaes you could play so much becaue of the starting amount), but I guess it was a better indicator than nothing. |

Of course I realize that the TP bankroll contest does not positively identify the best cash game player. Bad choice of words I guess. More just that this contest will test ones MTT ability, as opposed to cash game ability, or SnG ability for that matter. I think we all do a pretty good job of adding input to these ideas/contest, and tweaking things to make it as fair as possible. That is one of the things that I like so much about this forum.
