You get this:
"Thanks for starting this thread, Sir. It's generated lots of interesting discussion."

Congratulations. Try not to spend all of that quote in one place.

I believe Aeq was questioning the income you make from your day job, not your poker bankroll. He's saying (I believe) that he thinks pissing away $300 is not something that somone in your position (income bracket) should do.

I know you continue insist that $300 = $5 somehow, but I think even a young child who hasn't been taught basic mathematics could recognize that that isn't true if the money was placed in two piles in front of him.

I'll fire up Titan and watch a few hands now.

I only have $510 on Titan (my initial deposit plus the $10 the gave me for free), which is about half of what I'd want (minimum) to sit in the 30/60 game. It looked weak, so I sat down at 10/20 6 max to try to build my roll a bit (I could deposit more, but I simply don't want to).

The very first hand I played, I lost a big pot with AK vs some dork's A7o. I got him all in on the turn, which is when he spiked his miracle 7, of course.

So far, these guys are really bad (they seem to have absolutely no concept of hand selection, with family pots nearly every hand). Maybe I actually will play here a while... long enough to clear my deposit bonus, anyway. I wonder how fast I can earn it at this level.

After all, I need to make sure I have an adequate roll for our 30/60 game, Sir... For me, $300 just won't cut it...

Well, at least you agree that with my skill level against these fools I have a chance (if I have a decent bankroll). lol. Or at the very least you agree this is a weak ass 30/60 land. It is something.

I make a mid 6-figure income. So not a freaking millionaire but I do fine.

For what it's worth, I can see now how losing $300 doesn't mean as much to you as it would to most people here. But I still see little to no difference between that money coming from your bank account or your poker account. It's still $300.

Of course, I can't help but wonder - does mid "six figure" mean midway between $100k and $200k, or does it mean midway between $100k and $1,000,000.

What do you do for a living (if you don't mind me asking)?

The game looked soft.... but that's all the more reason to have a decent bankroll for it. Short term variance will be high.

Default True

Between 100 and 200, closer to 200 .. but it varies. I am a computer consultant. I basically get hired out on 1-2 year projects making as much as I can! It has been good for me so far. Yeah, $300 does not mean much to me, but I like to keep my Gambooler account and my personal account seperate.

Anyway, the experiment is officially over. I did not score a big enough win in an MTT all week. Oh well. I am sure I will come up with something else..
