I've gotten annoyed at online tournaments as of late... it seems the play is very loose and calling-station like. Now in a cash game that is good, but in a tournament where you need to make bluffs more often, you need to steal blinds, and you need to make moves if you arent getting dealt to avoid being blinded out, this hurts your overall strategy tremendously

It seems most earn their bulk at limit cash games... me I cant play limit very often. I just can't. Most of my game involves pushing players off hands when I know they are weak but better than me,denying drawing hands correct odds, limiting the field to 1 or the most 2 callers with a strong Preflop raise, and elminating bad beats by forcing players to call large bets if they want to suck out..... in limit this doesn't work... I don't like 'showdown' poker, I don't like how people can chase with an over and a backdoor draw and be correct in doing so mathamatically.

So for me it's NL cash games... lately LIVE NL Cash games... I've began increasing my reading abilities, and have also began picking up more physical tells of different players.... my friend gave me a huge piece of advice, he said I tend to hold my breath when I bluff or bet quicker than normal when I bluff.... I didn't really notice any of these two things...in fact I could swear he's incorrect... but Im gunna watch for them now....

but the way you think about the game and the thought process you go through on every hand is something I would like to get better at. I think thats one of my problems is I dont think through hands as much as I should and just go on instincts, which is ok sometimes but more often I would rather think through my moves more.

its been said many times before you are a great addition to this forum and I totally agree, keep posting ZY.

i made most of my money playing SnGs because there are not a lot of people and if you play tight you usually make it in the money. i hate ring games because people just go in without even having a hand and they win. MTTs are ok i win some and lose some. for me its SnGs all the way.

I play rings mostly and win most sessions. The thing with ring games is play premium hands ,also knowing when a seat is cold and leaving as soon as you realize it.I have a rule 3 orbits no hands won then its time to bail.

You must be kidding. OK people, please don't give advice about gambling if you yourself need to do some serious review of fallacies.

I play .50/1 NL currently. Might think about getting back into limit at some point, since that's where the real, consistent money supposedly is for most people.

You know that's ridiculous, right? I mean, you know there's not such thing as hot and cold seats, right?

You are missing out by not getting into 6-max limit. I think you'd enjoy it and the opportunity for gains is pretty damn big.
