You have to "opt in" somewhere on the "my account" page. You are not automatically enrolled in the points program. This is a "VIP-only" promotion. Everyone gets a different offer. People who've been playing on their accounts for a while have been gettting points bonuses for a few months.
In my case, this is my invitation to the club, I guess. Usually, you have to enquire at the email addy from my letter to get "VIP" offers.
