Mel,

When I set this up, it was a lot of little "nerd tweaks" that had to be done. Mayhem's really good at being nerdy and I had him walking me through on AIM. I haven't seen him on there in a few days so I'm not sure what's up. Probably moving.

Anyway, to hopefully help you out:

1) You have to create a "false" .exe file, where the .hhf can be saved. Basically, just create a new folder and make an empirepoker.exe file in it. I remember this being a bit tricky and I don't exactly remember how I did it.

Now, in the party auto-import window, select "file location" (or whatever) and "enable" empire poker.

2) The FPHG file MUST be in the exact same folder as the empire.exe file. Sounds like you have the right idea. Get away from that B2B file.

3) iwitness does not import/read/save any hand histories. Iwitness basically let's you set parameters for tables you want to mine (i.e. >5 players, > $50 avg pot, or whatever you want) and then keeps 10 tables open at all times for you. If one gets too short, it closes it and opens another for you. This essentially allows you to mine all day, all night, if you want.

I'm not at home right now, so I'm going from memory. I hope I'm not forgetting anything.

Let me know how this works out for you.

thanks PShabi.

I figured I was off base with FPHG. The tweaks are going to kick my ass.

Here is a total stupid question about iwitness. If you can't save the data, what exactly are you mining and how are you using the info? The answers can wait until you post your book on dataming.

My preconceived notion was that mining was putting the info into PT/PAHUD and so you could see how/what everyone was doing at the table. I am having a hard time letting that idea go….

As stated above:

iwitness just opens the tables
FPHG writes the history files
PT imports and saves the data on the players
PAHuD displays it on your tables

And the book is posted. "Book" is a great term to describe it.

The tweaks will not kick your ass, but you may need to get Mayhem on AIM for some of it. He had all the answers for me and is a helpful guy. I'll also be available for AIM discussion tonight. I can offer more help from my home CPU with the apps on it.

I doubt I'm alone when I say that I'm not entirely sure what this software is. And I have no idea why you (mel) would think that you can't post about it.... Is this software banned from PArty or something? If so, you can still talk about it, but it would probably be a good idea to give people a heads up that if they need to not get caught using it. If it's allowed, on the other hand, maybe some links to where it can be downloaded (or at least read about) would be a good idea.

All programs mentioned here are also talked about in my game selection thread. Mel left a link in there from an earlier post.

None of it is against any T&Cs at Party.

Yes. I think this thread can safely be closed (or at least allowed to die), now that we have this one:
