Whether or not he should be reported is not up to us. And, I think it's in quite poor taste to have a poll on the situation.

Aeq was the victim of the crime and that is the person that decides to press charges in this situation. You were neither a witness nor a victim of the crime...so your opinion doesn't matter one little bit.

Sure, you heard about the crime, but that does not give you reason to turn in someone that may or may not be guilty. You don't go to the cops with a second hand story about something that may or may not have happened because your sense of justice tells you he should be punished.

In this situation, yeah..I'm guessing we can give Aeq the benefit of the doubt...but situations like this are not always the case. That's exactly why you aren't the one pressing charges. The victim of the crime (or the state) would be the one pressing charges.

It's a personal decision for Aeq on whether charges should be pressed. If an agreement can be made and all parties satisfied to the best possible outcome, then so be it. End of story. If Aeq feels that charges should be pressed for whatever reasons, then so be it. End of story.

The same with TP. Sure, we could talk about whether he should be banned...but our names aren't on the top of this page and they aren't on the bills. That's a decision for TP and him only. Ban or not. It's still his decision.

As for the rest of this...Everybody knows what happened. We know pretty much how it happened. The parties INVOLVED are reaching whatever agreements they so choose. The End.

It wouldn't bother me one bit if the thread was locked because the only thing left to do is ask a bunch of questions to holdem that nobody will probably understand the answers...it serves no good to continue dragging it all out.

Am I the only one who has no problem with this poll?

I think jimmy was just taking a poll to get people's opinions on what they thought Aeq should do.... not what HE (jimmy) should do. And I see nothing wrong with asking for other people's opinions about this. We've had far stupider polls in the past.

As for the banning, I'm still holding off a day or two to see how things shakes out (and give him a chance to respond to whatever here), but I can't really think of many good reasons to NOT ban him.

I see no need to enable a scam artist (even to the slightest degree, where lea learns anything about any of us), or to allow him to be a part of this forum because he thinks its "intertaining" (sic).

I dont have any issues with this poll at all really, untimatley Its Lou who is gonna decide what to do though no matter what we say its his decision alone. He pretty much knows what he is gonna do already and Lou is a pretty smart guy and knows what is best for this paticular situation.

As for banning, I agree with TP there is no reason to have someone like that on this forum at all. I see absolutley no reason to keep him here, he stole and lied and took someones money. He hasnt added anything to this forum at all in my opinion and even if he did this would kill anything positive he brought to this forum. We as users should have a big say in the kind of people we keep around here. Of course this is TP's and Lou's decision seeing as he is admin and Lou is person that was hurt the most by this guy. But if you want opinions I say get rid of him before he does it again, once a theif always a theif. Unless you go to one of those cool reform schools then maybe you can break the habbit. I mean seriously if it was that easy for him to do what is gonna stop him from doing it again a couple months down the line when this blows over. I mean he might be able to hide it better next time and without proff there wont be much we can do. I say stop it now!

2. im fine with this poll. i voted no, i had my reasons but i cant remember them now.

3. its AEQs choice, and TP too i guess. If it was me that did this, for example, id request after paying up to be banned anyway, as an act of remorse or something.

I think personally people are being complete idiots towards this entire situation...they are actually beginning to FEEL BAD for this kid.

How would you like it if it was your account?

Whoever - repped me and said to leave the kid alone he learned his lesson....HOW? He got away with it! Hes giving what he lost back, and that's it. He seems blessed if thats all that happens. He'll learn his lesson by thinking, if i do get caught again I'll just replace the money -- no biggie.

At some point stupidity and immiturity can't cover an explanation -- the stupidity part is simply because he was caught -- and what did he grow up over night and become mature?

Sorry to sound like Im jumpin down his throat, but Im jus tellin things like they are. Sure it's only up to Aeq on legal action (or neteller/stars) and up to TP on banning ... but this poll seemed to be asking for opinions on what they should do, not what jimmyM, or me or you should do...what THEY should do. So I dont understand people jumpin down his throat -- especially Longshot -- what the hell kind of a response was that? Do you really think jimmy was talking about informing the english police on this incident and seeing what happens?

Maybe it'll take your guys accounts being broken into in order for you to make some sense out of this situation -- as I'm laughing at you from the irony, I'll tell you to take it easy, and that he's learned his lesson.

Sorry if Im sounding like a dick here, but Im really just baffled how many people seem to feel bad for this guy

This thread isn't about banning him, its a poll to find out should he have been reported to authorities for committing a series of crimes......crimes mind you that do impact this forum as they happened to a member and can happen to another member. Fool me once...shame on you....fool me twice shame on me - lets see if it holds true.

I'm quite suprised at the "resolution". I would have notified authorities immediately once I figured out who it was. Identity theft is quite serious and can be quite painfull to recover from. Being young and dumb is not an excuse.

I agree with just about all of this. The one that that I don't agee with is that the banning thing is entirely my decision. A certain Zybomb has banning powers too, you know.

I understand you not wanting to overstep your bounds or whatever, but if you banned him, it would be fine with me. I'm probably going to do it in a couple of days anyway. I'd prefer to let things play out first though - who knows, if he really is reformed, maybe he'll add something valuable to the forum that will help other members avoid getting scammed by similar shitheads.

Its Funny in a way.

How some members can defend what JohnStewart done and say its ok Lou has sorted it out, Internet Fraud is serious it usually starts with some spotty faced kid playing a so called prank and then envelopes into this same spotty faced twat ripping who he can off.

Lou must have been worried to know that a little bollock could so easily get into his accounts and I suppose his decision not to report this twat could be looked at in many ways one being the response he may get from his fellow workers once found.

I asked a support member from PokerStars to check out the Ive Been Punkd thread as I was concerned that John_Stewart who is a member from there site may be a Fraudster, Pokerstars have agreed that they are concerened about this guy and are going to make further enquires into his account.

I contacted Chris Connally Chief of Police 501 Faraon St. St. Joseph, MO 64501 (816) 271-4700 by e-mail mailto:jlrothganger@ci.st-joseph.mo.us expressing my concern about this guy and allthough I dont have a home address I pointed out that Pokerstars do have his home address .

So there you have it, Yes I was Pissed offwith this and No I didnt need the bobbys over her to go and get him, it took me 20min of my time to bring to the attention these people of possible Fraudster, I dont care what they do if anything, but this guy is scum and I for one say Ban him now remember it could be you next and do you know what to do like Lou did, I doubt many of us could even start.

Yes, and he deleted the other two posts he made in this thread too, so now it's kind of a mess.

That's annoying. See why I don't like having 12 hour edit times and would prefer more like 15 minutes?

Jimmy's first two posts in the this thread, now missing, made the entire poll objectionable.

In the first post, Jimmy states that he is going to take action unless Aeq does and in the second post he justifies his desire to act with some rambling story about getting rewarded for “doing the right thing” Part/most of the second post is contained in X-LS-X reply (#4)

edit for content.
