I notice a lot of people doing this type of thing in these and other low-level satellites - not protecting their huge stack when 1st and 50th is the same results. I made the mistake (twice) recently of assuming that the really big stacks would play ultra tight (as i would), at least in terms of calling all-ins and getting involved in big pots withe questionable hands. I am not saying they should get up and walk away, but if its me with the big stack - i try to steal the blinds, maybe see some cheap flops and steal small pots, etc....

I tried blind steals on big stacks when i was low and got called by medium strong hands (i.e. 9s and Ax). If it was me, i wouldn't call an all-in for 1/5 or 1/6 of my stack in that position - but what do i know.

Live and learn i guess. I think in a higher level of satellite - that play will work (stealing off of the really big stacks).
