My worst streak ever, by a lot, has continued for yet another day. Yes, I won a very nice Bahamas trip in the middle of said streak last night, but in cash games, I am running colder than I thought possible. I don't feel like it has effected my play much, but realistically, IT HAS TO BE. I don't see how it couldn't. If nothing else, it's affected how my opponents see me at the tables (as a loser), which will make them more likely to call me down (since I lose so many showdowns), and that doesn't go very well with a frigid deck. I could completely change my style for a while, and I may need to.... I don't even know.
I'm not sure why I'm posting this in this thread. I guess it's because I've gotten my 10k hands in now but I am WELL down for the month... MY $10k goal is pretty much an impossibility now... I'd be happy if I could just get back to even for the month. I cashed out a lot of my Neteller account last week (thinking I wouldn't need the money online anytime soon and hating that it was sitting there earning 0% interest), and I'm really glad I did. Right now, my online bankroll (which is obviously not my true bankroll) is pretty tight. I'm going to try to rebuild here without reloading... I may move down a level for a while or I may take a break all together. I'm not sure yet. but I'm sick of losing large sums of money day after day after day because of (mostly) SICK variance. |

With your style TP, variance will definitely be much greater than others. I think the regulars are probably starting to bluff check/raise you a lot more knowing you cbet the flop far greater than most.

Damn regulars!
If that was the extent of it, that would be one thing... but I'm getting my money in with the best of it and being drawn out on a LOT more than one would expect. And I'm just not getting big hands either. And when there is a big hand vs. bigger hand situation, I seem to be on the losing end of it (regardless of which hand I held) about 80 or 90% of the time. I think you are right about the regulars though...... |

Yes, I recall. So, reverse roles - you're me. How do you play AK differently here?

Funny... cause I think I'm going to have to start CBing a lot less - at least against the "regulars." I hate to do that though, since it worked (past tense) so very, very well for me. But for the guy who check raise me a lot, I may have to check behind more often. It really pains me to not CB though.
Lik in this hand, if I check the flop and the turn bricks, you're going to lead at the turn. So then what? Fold? Bluff raise? |
