I am CERTAIN someone will tell me where I went wrong, but in the first game I have played in three weeks this reminded me why I was gonna quit in the first place.
I think once I burn through my rakeback payment for last month I am gonna retire, honestly. I knew there would be at least one!
You don't think I WANT action in this spot and hope he catches a piece of it?

He wins 3255 each time he outflops you (say 1 out of 8) bc you wont get off Aces
He loses 280 each time he does not because he check folds (7 out of 8) 280 x 7 = 1960 which is signifcantly less than 3255 Opponent would be a fool to fold any two cards and your raise was incorrect

If you are going to slowplay, just smooth call. Min raising is retarded in this spot since it gives up the strength of your hand (since I find it unlikely that you are min reraising often) while also not pricing out anything.

Actually, in this EXACT spot people will think the min re-raise is a re-steal and many times come back over the top all-in. He could have done that, it would have been better (not knowing my hand) for him to do that than simply call with 2-7.
Could also be argued that stealing with 2-7 that early in a tournament is foolish. Play of the hands aside, this was in fact a horrible beat, I had AA and he had no business in the hand, that would be the definition of a bad beat. You would think on the forum that there was no such thing as a bad beat however, raguardless of the play of the hands someone will blame your play.

Actually, I disagree. He was a pretty big favorite when the money went in. Had you sucked out, then he could say it was a bad beat, yes, but the best hand (by a lot) holding up is certainly not the definition of a bad beat.
Call it a bad flop for you, sure, but there was no bad beat here. You put all your money in as a big dog. Tough beat, sure... but not a bad beat. |

Like Boobie said, sarcasm?
I mean seriously, this shows pretty much no understanding of poker. And this is why u think ur the unluckiest person ever. No one else thinks this is a bad beat at all. You played this hand extremely weak and bad. I can't beleive you think it's a bad beat when you get 680 of your stack in when your ahead, and 3,225 in when you are WAY behind. ![]() |

Sounds to me like you got exactly what you wanted then, right?
Yes, you were way ahead preflop, but you wanted him to come along and he did. If he outflops you, that's the price you pay for all but begging him to. I've gone over this with bdawg like 100 times. If you WANT 72s to call your baby raise preflop when you have AA, and he DOES, then you got exactly what you wanted and lose all rights to complain when you then decided to give him the rest of your stack for some reason. |

People that can't beat low limit games and blame luck are just really, really bad at poker not unlucky. This hand exemplifies this horrible play.

I hate to say it, because I'm not trying to be mean, but I 100% agree.
Look at the winning players' responses in this thread. We all understand that (I'll quote JD) this: is a bad play, not a bad beat: The fact that he played 72s against you (after you all but begged him to) and outflopped you is irrelevant. The fact that 90% of the people here would have gone broke on this flop just like you is also irrelevant. What is relevant is that you put yourself in this situation in the first place. You claim to have WANTED him to call, but then when he outflops you and you can't get off the hand, you complain. I don't get this at all. ![]() |
