Was out doing my traditional last minute Xmas shopping today. Finished up early and the mall just happened to be near our local B&M who had been running ads for their Friday SnG turbo tournaments. I wondered how they were getting around the new interpretation on Florida law re: the $2 betting max, so I had to stop in and check things out.
![]() Well, the way they've gotten around the new interpretation of the law is they've changed the value of the chips used in their tournaments. Used to be you'd get $1500 in chips to start (using a combination of $50 and $100 chips to start), now the chips values are $0.00100 and $0.00025 and you start with 9 of the .00100 chips and 4 of the .00025 chips. So, even if you go all-in when you're down to HU it doesn't equal $2. Pretty clever way to get around the issue. On a side note the format for their SnGs is a complete joke. Let's just say those .00100 chips are 100 and the others 25, so you start with 1000 and the blinds start at 100/50. ![]() ![]()
